Acts 1:12–26

What do we do when God has clearly brought us somewhere, but the road ahead is uncertain? In Acts 1:12-26, we find the early church standing in exactly that tension. Jesus had risen, ascended, and commissioned His followers to take the gospel to the nations. But the Holy Spirit had not yet come, one of the twelve was gone, and the details of what came next were far from clear. Rather than scrambling for answers or retreating to old habits, these believers did something deceptively simple yet profoundly powerful. They obeyed what Jesus had told them, gathered together, and devoted themselves to prayer with one accord. This passage challenges us to examine our own instincts when uncertainty hits. Do we reach first for our own strategies and experience, or do we return to the bedrock of God's Word and dependent prayer?
