Acts 2:42–47
What does it look like when thousands of people surrender their lives to Christ all at once and then have to figure out how to actually live together? Acts 2:42-47 gives us a front-row seat to exactly that moment, and what we find there is not chaos but a beautiful, God-designed community taking shape. The early church did not just share a belief system; they shared their lives. They gathered around God's word with a hunger that could not be satisfied; they broke bread together in remembrance of what Christ had done; and they prayed with a dependence that acknowledged they could not do any of it on their own. The central lesson here is striking: Jesus does not simply save individuals and send them off alone. He saves people into a community, binding them together in devotion to God and to one another.
